[ He's happy to just head to the barn by himself and pick up the hay, but he was looking forward to seeing Kieran, too, and chatting with him a little. He likes Kieran! The man might have a strange accent and be from a completely different world and time, but he reminds Reynir of home a lot more than most people in this place. So he's a bit bummed he isn't going to see him.

Then Kieran explains he's in the medbay, and Reynir's disappointment turns to concern. ]

Oh no, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were sick. Do you need me to do anything to help around the ranch?

[ Sure Pratt is probably holding things down but it's a lot of work for one person and Reynir is willing and able. Reynir doesn't even realize the sorts of assumptions he is making - he just figures if Kieran doesn't know how long he'll be there, it must be an illness. He goes on: ]

I had an awful fever recently, it was the first time I'd been sick in a long time and I hated it. Are you contagious? Is it quarantined or can I come visit? Are they feeding you okay?
